This page is provided in accordance with the Google Play account deletion policy. It explains how to request deletion of your Reading Pal account and associated personal data.
App: Reading Pal — developed by Darren Lin (solo developer, Taiwan).
The following are deleted at the end of the grace period:
All personal data associated with your account is removed.
| Data | What survives | Retention after deletion |
|---|---|---|
| Audit log | Event type, timestamp, numeric user ID only — no PII, no reading content | Retained indefinitely for compliance verification (de-identified; the user ID no longer maps to any person) |
| Server access logs | IP address and request metadata | 30 days, then automatic rotation |
The audit log records only that a deletion event occurred (event type: deletion_executed, timestamp, numeric user ID). IP address, device ID, and any user-supplied deletion reason are set to NULL at the moment of hard delete. No book notes or reading content survive in any form.
You can download a full JSON export of your data before deletion:
Settings → Account → "Export my data"
Export is available immediately.
If you cannot log into the app, send a deletion request by email:
We will respond and process the request within 30 days.
For full details on data retention periods, audit log contents, and your broader privacy rights, see the Privacy Policy — in particular Sections 2(f), 6, and 9.
